This season the bookie highly rates Aguero and Costa.

So I am recommending putting €20 on both Aguero and Costa, and €10 e/w bet on maybe Wayne Rooney or one of the outside favourites. 

With these three players likely to score at least 13 goals each next season this will likely earn us 3 x 13 x €2 free bets. So €78 in free bets which with a bit of thinking you should be able to convert back to €62.40 in real money. So you will probably win back your stake before the bet is settled. Raheem Sterling is 66/1 to make top goalscorer, but the odds (see below) are suggesting that Paddy Power are reckoning on him hitting the net 9 or 10 times next season. I take this to mean that those players quoted at 20/1 and shorter are likely to score at least a few more goals, say at least 13. That would give €26 in free bets which will probably see you win your stake back before the bet is settled on any of the top 10 players above.

Dixon Coles Dixon Coles is a method of generating probabilities on football matches.  It is related to Poisson but adds a correlation for low scores.  It seems to be one of the most accurate public methods.  It requires three parameters lambda, mu and rho.  rho describes how related low scores are.  lambda and mu represent the average goals the home and away team are expected to score. This started off as just a personal project.  I got full value from the effort that I put in already.   The effort included a few days coding initially and a day or two here or there to fix and add features, perhaps a full working week but fragmented all over the place.  In total it is now about 150 lines of code.   The reward was learning some javascript, learning about chrome extensions, earning some cred on twitter, and getting to connect with different people.  And of course I am actively using it and can identify potential betting opportunities myself.
