David vs Goliath

In the battle of wits between a simple punter (me) and a global multi million pound bookmaking giant (William Hill) - the giant wins but only in the most cowardly way. William Hill offer promotions such as this one on the horses . If your horse comes in second they offer you a free bet. By carefully picking the right horses you can turn the odds in your favour and actually reverse the bookie edge in your favour.  I funded my account in December 2015 with €200 and by April 2016 have withdrawals totalling €3,870. In order to beat me, the bookie could have got sharper with their odds - after all they do have databases of statistics and employs hundreds of risk analysts, traders, mathematicians and sports exports. But no - the cowardly way that they chose to beat me was to take their ball and go home. I can't play any more. My stakes have been limited and I am no longer allowed receive offers and promotions. My secret is simple and relied on taking advantage of generous free...

Horses Money Back 2nd, 4/1+ Winners, 3/1+ Winners, 2nd to SP

Free Bets. You have got to believe that every time you place a bet you are giving money to the bookie's. Yes you win some, and lose some but in the long run the bookie has set up the odds with an edge in their favour. Depending on if you like to bet on favourites or underdogs you could be losing 10% to 50% of your stake in the long run. This is true unless the bookie is giving you something back in return - like a free bet. At the moment both Ladbrokes and Will Hill have been offering money back as a free bet if the horse you backed to win finishes second. This is usually available for the Channel 4 races. Paddy Power have been offering money back too, but only if 2nd to the SP favourite. Coral have started offering your stake back as a free bet but this time if your 3/1+ pick  wins . Betfair sometimes have a similar offer. Bet365 have the same offer as Coral but your odds have to be 4/1 or longer to qualify. Other online bookie's like Betfred, sportingbet, S...

Will Hill feeling Charitable

Image
So William Hill are getting into the spirit of the Christmas Season. They are copying Paddy Power's promotion on the horses - giving money back as a free bet if your horse is second. The key differences between the William Hill offer and Paddy Power is that William Hill are only giving money back on your first qualifying bet. With Paddy Power you could pick two or three horses per race and hedge your bets.  The other major difference is that free bets dont earn free bets. With Paddy Power if your free bet runs in second then you got your free bet back again. With William Hill you will miss this opportunity. I found this offer very profitable under Paddy Power, and despite the added limitations with William Hill's version I still plan on making money off this. The new strategy will be. 1. Bet on the favourite in each race (provided he is 3/1 or under) - to earn money or a free bet if 2nd.  2. With free bets back 9/2 horses. See the table below base...

It started with Sergio Aguero for top scorer. For a €20 bet paddy power were offering a €2 free bet for each time he scored. It got me thinking that I could make my money back on the free €2 bets over the season (it would only take one 10/1 winning outcome). I could and should be in a position that I break even or make a small profit even if Aguero didn't finish top of the charts. I progressed onto other offers, a similar one for the GAA All Ireland Championships and the Rugby World Cup. Free bets offered on the Premier League games and at certain horse racing meetings daily. All the time breaking even or close to it with my real money bets and winning big here and there on my free bets. My emphasis was keeping risk to the minimum (betting on favourites all the time and very short odds like 1/2). The big wins on the free bets built up €35 here, €50 there. The winnings cancelled out the small losses made on betting on favourites and then some. I slowly let m...

Betway - Four bets, Free bet promo

Image
Betway are offering a free €10 bet if you place 4 bets on in-play tennis, and a similar promotion on basketball. Read the terms on the website for which tournaments are eligible for this offer. The strategy here is: 1. Place 4 low risk bets at 1/2. 2. Use the free bet on horses priced around 9/2. We use 1/2 for our real money as the terms state this is the shortest eligible odds for the promo. There are two reasons that we go for the shortest odds - 1) its the minimum risk and 2) bookie's generally operate a lower edge on short odds. I have data and experience that suggests 9/2 is the best price for the free bet where your stake is not returned. An even shot wins you €10 about half the time (a €5 long term expectation), 9/2 wins you €45 about 2 times out of 11 (a €8 long term expectation). Detailed information on using free bets  here . The final numbers should see you staking €80 (4 by €10 on the tennis and the same on basketball) per day to win €20 in free bets. ...
