Ireland have a crucial Euro Qualifier against Poland tomorrow. Poland look like the main rivals for 2nd spot and we are already 3 points behind them. If we fail to make second then we will have to scrap out 3rd spot with Scotland and then navigate a play-off. It cannot be overstated how important a home win tomorrow night is. But its not only Euro Qualification that is on the line here. World Cup 2018 is on the horizon and Ireland have the possibility of soaring in the rankings before July. July is when the draw for the World Cup Qualification will be made and our FIFA ranking then will decide what pot we will be in. World Dominanation Step 1: Make it into Pot 2 for the World Cup Draw. There will be 9 groups in the WC2018 Qualification. Top 9 countries based on FIFA Ranking in July will be put in Pot 1 for the draw and next 9 countries will be in Pot 2.
